Monroe County Township Trustees

Township Trustees, through Poor Relief, provide assistance to those in need.  They can help direct you toward free food and clothing, as well as assist with utility bills, shelter, and some medical expenses.  The following is a list of Trustees for each township.  Call them for help.

You must meet the following guidelines to receive assistance:

- Live in township

- Apply for food stamps

- Nine page application

- Income under poverty level, unless unusual conditions exist

- Show expenses exceed income

- Work Fare, a payback assistance by working for a local government non-profit agency, may be required

- May need to apply for other public assistance
