The Hoosier Hills Food Bank serves local hunger agencies in Monroe, Brown, Lawrence, Orange, Owen, and Martin Counties.  Everyday in the United States, many families have to make difficult choices when it comes to the basic necessities of food, shelter, healthcare, and childcare.  Free food is available to those in need.

Dial 2-1-1 for Social Services:

Area 10 Agency on Aging in partnership with the United Way of Monroe County and Smithville Telephone have developed the 2-1-1 Infolink, an Information & Referral Call Center, to serve Monroe and Owen Counties. Our Call Center maintains and disseminates health and human service information that enables people to make informed choices and to improve their quality of life. Specific health and human services include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that people have access to adequate food, shelter, clothing, and transportation
• Financial resources to meet their needs
• Consumer education and decision support
• Criminal justice or legal services
• Education and employment
• Health and mental health care including substance abuse services
• Environmental protection, both routinely and in times of disaster or other emergencies
