"Families First" Lawrence County Mobile Pantry
Families First Mobile Pantry - Families First is HHFB's mobile food pantry and the agency's only direct-service program. Families First is designed to provide nutritional foods to underserved regions and areas of concentrated need in our service area. The mobile pantry program first began in the Spring of 2008 with a grant from Charity Projects Entertainment Fund. Lawrence County was selected for this program due to a very high unemployment rate and other factors. The Families First mobile pantry is currently serving about 200 households each month at two sites in Lawrence County.
A mobile food pantry service is offered free of charge on the 4th Tuesday of every month from 5pm-7pm at the Wilson Shelter House in Bedford and on the 4th Thursday of each month from 5pm-7pm at the American Legion Post (404 Sheeks Dr.).
